Usually, perfumes are mixed with a solvent, which is usually ethanol or a mixture of ethanol and water. These ingredients are determined by a professional perfumer (sometimes called a ‘nose’).
Well, the higher the concentration of the perfume in the bottle (compared to the solvent), the stronger the scent. If the scent is stronger, not only will the smell be stronger, but it will also last longer.

Their main difference is their concentration levels. The amount of oil in each fragrance helps determine the strength of the scent and how long the scent will stay on the skin. But before we get into the ingredients, let’s talk about the types of oils used:

The most commonly used exfoliant is alcohol due to its low viscosity, which means it increases its spray strength, dissolves oil, and absorbs quickly into the skin.

In general, the word fragrance, derived from the word ‘m’ itself, means “sweet, pleasant smell”. So, anything related to this word means anything that adds the smell of something to your/others’ liking. Growing up, I always thought perfumes were only designed for women and I never thought about why. I think the misunderstanding still exists for many people as there are some products out there that have variations ‘for men’ and ‘for women’ which manufacturers will label as eau de cologne / toilet and eau de parfum respectively. I believe this is one of the side effects of modern business and nothing else. In fact, men can wear perfume just like women can wear cologne. It doesn’t actually make them more interesting. But as long as these words are understood in context, it doesn’t matter.

With more than 20% oil concentration, you may still notice your fragrance working from morning to evening. Perfumes have the highest concentration of fragrance and will last longer in any category: usually six to eight hours. But again, perfume or perfume will require a higher price.
People with sensitive skin can do well with parfum because they have less alcohol than other types of fragrances so they don’t dry out the skin.

Eau de cologne (EDC) has a lower fragrance content (about 2% to 4%) than EDT with a higher alcohol content, so it is cheaper than those above. It generally takes up to two hours.
EDCs often come in large bottles as most of these fragrances should. The original eau de cologne is referred to a traditional recipe that uses herbs and citrus notes with a little bit of base notes.
The Difference Between Eau De Toilette, Cologne & Parfum In Men’s Fragrances
Eau fraiche is similar to EDC in that the scent will last up to two hours. However, it has even less fragrance with only 1% to 3%.
While eau fraiche has a less aromatic flavor, it does not contain the same amount of alcohol. Along with the fragrance, the eau fraiche residue is mostly water so this is also great for those with sensitive skin.
Besides this list, there are also different types of fragrances like mist and shaving. Top quality fragrances can cost a lot of money so doing your research ahead of time will ensure that you get the type of fragrance you are looking for.
