This may seem like a no-brainer but rest assured that all hope is not lost if you and your partner miss a week of conceiving. Remember, after ovulation occurs, the egg will be in the fallopian tube for 12 to 24 hours before it disintegrates. This is also known as the beginning of the luteal phase.

Regardless, you can still do well to give it a shot (literally and figuratively). There is a chance of getting pregnant and you also don’t want to rule out that you and your partner may have made a mistake when determining your ovulation day. Having regular sex is the best way to increase your chances of getting pregnant, but you and your partner may not have the time or energy for this every month. Therefore, having full knowledge of your menstrual cycle each month is half the battle won. You and your partner will have an easier time planning when you do the devil tango the most.
