The most common question I hear from my DMs is, “Can I get Botox while pregnant or breastfeeding?” So I decided to go ahead and write this blog to help answer and address some frequently asked questions about injections and medical grade Regarding skin care when trying to conceive, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

You can get Botox, Dysport and fillers while trying to conceive. However, when you see these two lines on a positive pregnancy test, it’s time to stop all injection treatments!

Should You Get A Botox Treatment While Pregnant?

Botox, Dysport, and fillers have never been studied in pregnant or nursing mothers, and therefore we cannot consider these treatments “safe.” During pregnancy and breastfeeding, if you see a provider RA, these injectables are contraindicated, which means they should not be used in a specific situation. The risk absolutely outweighs the benefit in my book.

You can definitely continue using all medical grade products/exfoliants while trying to conceive. When you see these two lines on your pregnancy test, contact your provider and we’ll just change your plan a bit. If you’re breastfeeding, you can wait to add stronger exfoliants and continue with pregnancy-safe alternative products. You can use more acid/pads with OBGYN approval. Medical grade products have not been tested on pregnant or nursing mothers. We have many nursing moms who go ahead and start them with their OBGYN’s permission because we know they don’t get into the milk. However, some prefer to stop breastfeeding. Regardless, I always recommend deferring to your doctor’s advice.
