When you’ve been cooped up indoors for too long, you might want a change. For many people, this means picking up and moving to a new location. While this can be an exciting time, it can also be a bit stressful – especially if you’re on a tight budget. Moving house isn’t cheap, but there are many ways you can save money during the moving process. Here are some tips to help you move without spending a lot of money.

Packing is one of the most important (and expensive) aspects of moving. If you plan to pack a lot of your stuff yourself, remember to start early and give yourself plenty of time. This will help you avoid having to pay for last-minute packing services. You should also try to get rid of as much furniture as possible before moving. Have a garage sale, donate to Goodwill, or sell your stuff online. The less stuff you have to move, the cheaper it will be!
How To Move Across The Country
Here’s a useful tip: create three piles. “To Keep” are the things you want to take with you on new adventures. “Donate/Sell” are things that are still in good condition but don’t quite fit your new life, it’s best to give those things a new home where they can be properly loved. “To Throw Away” are things that need to be thrown in the trash and never heard of again.
When it comes to actually moving your belongings, there are several options. You can rent a truck and do it yourself, hire a professional moving company, or use a combination of both. If you’re on a tight budget, doing it yourself is probably the best option for you. However, if you have the money, hiring a professional moving company can save you a lot of time and hassle.
There are a few things to keep in mind if you choose to do it yourself. First, make sure to get multiple quotes from different truck rental companies. You should also ask about discounts and promotions – many companies offer discounts to students, military personnel, and seniors. Be sure to compare the cost of renting a truck with the cost of hiring a professional moving company. In some cases, hiring a company can be cheaper than doing it yourself.
This is the time to really consider the cost benefits of each option. Making your own is always a little easier on your budget but can take up a lot of time. Hiring can be expensive but if you’re limited on time, you can opt for a full service or a partially packaged service. Partial service could look like packing your belongings and loading them into storage for shipping and paying for unpacking services after you move into your new home.

Once you’ve arrived at your new home, there are a number of things you can do to save money. When it comes to furnishing your new place, consider shopping at thrift stores or online classifieds sites like Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. You can also ask friends and family if they have any furniture they are willing to part with. And finally, don’t forget to take advantage of any moving discounts your new city or state may offer!
Creating a Pinterest board will help you focus your inspiration as you search for the perfect home decor. Remember to take the time to update all of your important financial documents with your new address. This includes driver’s licenses, insurance policies, bank statements, and more.

Why did we move to Florida? That’s the question people ask us when we tell our friends and family that we’re moving across the country. Immediately people mentioned how the Red area was and asked us if we intended to become “Florida guys” we saw this as an opportunity to educate them about the greatness of our new home. NE Florida, and especially Saint Augustine, is beautiful and unique.

After many trips, we learned that the beaches in Florida, both the Gulf Coast beaches and the Atlantic beaches of Saint Augustine, are completely different from the beaches in California. We discovered that moving across the country gave us the ability to have a beach life we could afford and that would be better than what we could find in California.
People told us that moving across the country would give us new insight into the perspectives and realities of Red states and Trump supporters. I will tell you, before actually living here, even during our many visits, I never saw how Republican this area was or just blindly followed Trump. It was truly a wake-up call.
I’ve talked about this on social media and many people have said “Have you taken the time to ask why people have their political views?” And the answer is yes. I talked to a few people on the way to the beach. They don’t want to talk about their views or why they fly the Trump flag. They just want to do it without question. It’s sad and frustrating. And there are a lot of them here, especially in our Butler Beach/Crescent Beach neighborhood.
Being a distinct, progressive minority in Saint Augustine gives us the opportunity to express ourselves and show this community that there are good people who are different from them. We have the opportunity to influence the region through our presence, our friendships, our work and of course our votes.
